"Diesel Engineering, Inc.*, Englewood Cliffs, N.J., is being awarded a $20,784,887 firm-fixed-price-contract for engine upgrade kits for the Achzarit heavy armored personnel carriers for the Israeli Ministry of Defense. The Achzarit engine upgrade kits modify the engine, transmission and cooling systems, resulting in an increase in horsepower of approximately 20 percent and an increase in acceleration of approximately 200 percent. This contract involves a Foreign Military Sales to Israel (100 percent). Work will be performed in Elizabeth, N.J. (71 percent), and Prague, Czech Republic (29 percent), and is expected to be completed by June 2013. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year.
